NHS Pensioner Newsletter - March 2025

Welcome to the first ever edition of our newsletter for NHS pensioner scheme members.

This newsletter is all about you and your pension. Whether you're curious about your benefits or want to stay in the loop on recent changes, we have you covered.

We’d also like to gather more information about your pension journey and your thoughts about the SPPA, so please share your views in our new annual member survey

Thanks again for everything you do. We at the SPPA are immensely proud to serve the people who serve Scotland.

2015 Remedy

The 2015 Remedy is a key area of interest for many of our members. If you are eligible for the 2015 Remedy, you will be invited to choose which of the benefits you would like to take for the remedy period – from the legacy scheme (final salary) or the reformed (CARE) scheme.

The SPPA will provide you with a choice letter known as a Remediable Service Statement, or RSS for short, which will provide you with information about your options. You can stay up to date on progress by visiting our website where you will find updated information on delivery dates for RSS. SPPA Look out for a Remedy edition later in the month.

2025 annual pension increase

The increase to your pension will be 1.7%, which will be applied to your pension from 7 April 2025. A P60 for the financial year 2024/25 will be available to you on our Online services from May 2025.
