STG scheme closure
Since April 2002, SPPA has been managing the winding up of The Scottish Transport Group Pension Schemes on behalf of the Scottish Government.
As part of this project, we’ve written to all former members of the scheme and we’ve used a number of techniques (including press advertising, using the Department of Work and Pensions’ (DWP) tracing service and contacting Personal Pension providers) to identify former members who may qualify for ex gratia payment from the surplus funds.
Although most of the funds have now been distributed, a small number of former members may still be eligible for an ex gratia payment. In the majority of cases, these are people who paid into the schemes between 1974 and 1991. If they are now deceased, their spouse or legal representative may still make a claim on their behalf.
If you think you might qualify, please contact The Scottish Transport Group Team.
Note: If you have already had a payment as part of the winding up of the scheme, you will not be entitled to any further payments.
