Each pension scheme has a Scheme Advisory Board which provides advice to Scottish Ministers on the desirability of changes to the design of the individual schemes and the implications of other policy issues.

The number of member and employer representatives on a Scheme Advisory Board must be equal in number at all times.

Guidance for board members and terms of reference are available in Corporate Governance Policies.
