Each of the four pension schemes the SPPA administers has a Pension Board whose principal role is to assist the Scheme Manager with the effective and efficient governance and administration of the pension scheme. Pension Boards provide advice and scrutiny over the operation of the scheme administration and ensure that the legal and administrative requirements of the scheme are being met.

The Boards consist of an independent chair, independent vice chair and equal numbers of employer and member representatives.
