The Scottish Public Pensions Agency (SPPA) has launched a new online portal for members to quickly and effectively access information about their individual pension scheme.

The new portal – Engage - is replacing MyPension and is being rolled out in phases. In the first phase access will be limited to active members of the Scottish NHS and Teacher pension schemes – those people currently working and paying into their pension.

Active NHS and Teacher members can create their Engage account to access their 2025 Annual Benefit Statement (ABS) from today (Monday 1 September).

The SPPA’s Head of Business Transformation Robert Skey said:

“Once it is fully developed, the Engage portal will completely replace MyPension. In this first phase of roll-out it is available to NHS and Teacher active members, providing quick and effective access to the most recent ABS for 2025.

“New services and functions will be introduced so that members can access their up-to-date pension statements and other information and make use of the latest online digital services for public sector pension schemes.”

“The SPPA is committed to providing effective digital services to enable pension scheme members to access their pension information quickly and effectively. The Engage portal is part of a wider programme of SPPA activity to modernise and manage pension scheme administration efficiently and effectively.”

Background information

The new Engage portal is now available

The first phase of roll out is available for active NHS and Teacher members who are still working and paying into their scheme.

Retired members of the NHS and Teacher schemes and retired and active members of the Police and Fire schemes will be able to access their 2025 ABS and ABS-RSS on the existing portals:

  • MSS for Police and Fire
  • MyPension for the remaining NHS and Teacher members.

In this first phase of roll-out, active NHS and Teacher members will be able to register for Engage and access their 2025 Annual Benefit Statements (ABS). In the short term, older statements will continue to be available for these members on MyPension until this service is phased out.

On initial roll-out, active members of the NHS and Teacher schemes will be required to register for Engage to access the portal and their 2025 ABS / ABS-RSS. We have started issuing registration emails and letters to allow members to create their account.

In the initial roll-out, members will be able to:

  • create an account
  • access their 2025 Annual Benefit Statement (ABS) or ABS-RSS if they are impacted by the 2015 Remedy
  • update personal details including email address, phone number, and home address

Future updates to Engage are likely to allow members to:

  • update bank details if they have retired
  • access pension documents, such as pension payslips and P60
  • nominate beneficiaries to receive pension benefits in the event of death
