Information about 2015 Remedy

If you joined a public service pension scheme on or before 31 March 2012 you may have the right to make a choice about the pension benefits due to you between 1 April 2015 and 31 March 2022. SPPA will send you a special statement called a Remediable Service Statement to help you make this choice.

We have already sent statements to around 111,000 out of the 215,000 members who will need to make a choice. We are working hard to send the bulk of the remainder by the end of 2026. We are keeping members updated on a regular basis as we make progress.

If you have already retired, you will get your Remediable Service Statement so you can make your choice and your pension will continue to be paid at its current rate until you make that choice. If you have not yet retired, you will get a new look Annual Benefit Statement, which will provide an estimate of your benefit options each year in readiness for making your choice when you retire.
