Pension accrual for part-time police staff

If you're a part time member of the Police Pension Scheme 2015 you'll accrue pension based on your actual earnings rather than your wholetime equivalent.

If you're a part time member of the Police Pension Scheme 1987 you pay contributions based on your whole time equivalent salary while accruing pensionable service at the same rate as your part time hours - although your qualifying service accrues at the same rate as you would if you were a full time member. At retirement we use the final average pensionable pay based on your wholetime equivalent.

If you're a member of the New Police Pension Scheme 2006 you'll accrue service at the same rate as your part time contract. Your qualifying service accrues at the same rate as a full time member. At retirement we use the final average pensionable pay based on your wholetime equivalent.
