The SPPA places great value on mental health and we are committed to creating an environment that provides support to our colleagues. A positive and open approach to mental health can help our colleagues thrive and fulfil their full potential.

That is why we are delighted to announce our partnership with SAMH (Scottish Association for Mental Health) will continue in 2022.

A big thanks to our incredible colleagues who raised an amazing £2,257,00 last year and we look forward to raising even more this year.

SAMH is Scotland’s national mental health charity. In communities all over Scotland, the charity works with adults and young people to provide mental health social care support, services in primary care, schools and further education, among others.

Mental health issues are more common than you might think. Every 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem and 1 in 3 GP appointments are related to mental health.

Speaking about our continuing partnership, our SAMH representative, Robin Holden said:

“Thank you to everyone at SPPA! We are really proud to be your partner for a second consecutive year.

Our mental health and wellbeing is so important, poor mental health can have the most profound impact on our relationships, our work, our wellbeing and quality of life.

SAMH wants a kinder, fairer society which provides better support for people with mental health problems. Working in partnership with SPPA, SAMH will achieve this through our response to the coronavirus pandemic and our work in suicide prevention; our programmes working with young people in schools and colleges; our men’s mental health projects; and through our trusted information and support services.”

Here’s to continuing our fantastic partnership!”
