Important COVID-19 (Coronavirus) update: Reduced telephony service

To date, we’ve followed Scottish and UK Government guidance and taken the appropriate preventative measures to protect our colleagues and services. We’re well prepared for the spread of the virus and ready to continue to deliver core services.

To focus on this we’ll be temporarily operating a reduced telephony service with our teams responding to ill health, injury and bereavement enquiries only. For colleague safety, our Mailroom will also be on a reduced resource, so your response may take longer than usual. You can read an update from Royal Mail on the Coronavirus here.

For all other enquiries, please contact: sppacontactus@gov.scot

We want to reassure you that pensions will continue to be paid on time and in full.

We’ll update our website when our full service is restored. The SPPA appreciate your understanding and patience at this time. A SPPA Covid-19 FAQ can be found here.

Pensions Increase 2020

Public service pensions in payment, together with those that are deferred for payment at a future date, are indexed annually based on the annual change in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) measured as at the previous September.

In the 12 months to September 2019, CPI was 1.7%. As a result, an increase of 1.7% is to be applied from Monday 6 April 2020 for pensions in payment and deferred pensions.
